All gymnastic skills are important for our training for several reasons. We train to become better people and better athletes. We will learn a lot about ourselves through regular challenges. We learn discipline, we learn patience, and we learn to celebrate small improvements.
CrossFit Gymnastics is also a great way to improve strength, performance, engine control, stability, balance and flexibility. It does this in a completely different way than barbell training, and it is these differences that make gymnastics so valuable. Being an athlete requires moving your body in a way that dumbbell movement doesn’t prepare you for.
You can start CrossFit Gymnastics regardless of your fit levels. It is perfectly normal for a person who is not in shape to get involved in gymnastics. Your trainer will adjust the trainings according to your abilities and the group will support you regardless of your fitness level.
CrossFit Gymnastics is a safe training option when practicing in a controlled environment, and is not more dangerous than other training methods. Warming up, performing the exercises correctly and the absence of a previous injury are the best predictors of how to avoid further injuries.
Gymnasts are some of the strongest athletes in the world, and gymnastic strength training can help strengthen all muscles and help reduce chronic muscle aches and pains.
