the beginning of crossfit

CrossFit is a sports model that was officially created in 2000 in California (USA). It was founded by Greg Glassman with the aim of selecting the best from different disciplines and thus creating a varied and functional fitness program for everyone.

The first CrossFit gyms (colloquially also called “CrossFit box”) began to emerge in Slovakia around 2010. Since then, the fitness industry has come a long way, which has brought it to a qualitatively different level, which we are also raising in our gym.

WHAT CROSSFIT INCLUDES

It is a form of high-intensity training. The exercises are of a functional nature, the kind that our body is exposed to during everyday functioning (examples are various forms of squats, pull-ups, presses, stepping, etc.).

If we wanted to name the sports or disciplines from which the exercises in CrossFit come from, we must certainly mention gymnastics/calisthenics, Olympic weightlifting, bodybuilding and athletics, among others. There are also sports that we imitate on training machines: rowing, cross-country skiing, cycling or running.

crossfit license

The name CrossFit is a trademark, which means companies can work with this name only on the basis of a license renewed on an annual basis. Other conditions of using this name (in addition to the license) are also regular training of trainers and the necessity of specific equipment in the training spaces.

Adherence to these rules helps maintain a high standard of exercise, access to members, and the continued development of coaches and CrossFit itself.

The trainer in the CrossFit gym is there for the people, he devotes himself 100% to them from the first to the last minute of training. The trainer knows his clients by name, knows what their limitations and goals are, is interested in them and is available whenever they need him. This brings together all proper licensed gyms!

Who is CrossFit suitable for?

We say CrossFit is for everyone. We stand behind it, but there are also people who need to adapt the movements according to their current state of health or specific requirements. We call such modified exercises, weights or other forms of movement “scaling”. If you have doubts about whether CrossFit is suitable for you, call or message us and we will consult together, of course free of charge.
